Shravan Kumar Garg, chairman of the Haryana Gau Seva Aayog, visited the gaushala near Rakshak Vihar barricade in Jagadhri to inspect its operations.

During his visit, he revealed that 683 gaushalas, including five in Yamunanagar district, are registered in Haryana, all of which receive grants from the state government. The grants are distributed as Rs 10 for a calf, Rs 20 for a cow and Rs 25 for a bull.

“The Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, has allocated grants for gaushalas from August 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, as part of a budget of Rs 585 crore for the development of gaushalas in Haryana,” Garg said. He added that the gaushala located near Rakshak Vihar naka in Jagadhri had received a grant of Rs 23.35 lakh. Additionally, two other gaushalas in the district had each received Rs 7 lakh in grants.

Garg further mentioned that the CM had issued clear instructions to ensure that no cows remain on the roads. To support gaushalas, the Haryana Government has set electricity charges at Rs 2 per unit and the registration of gaushalas is free of cost.
