G’gram Police Commissioner selected for Prez medal

Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora has been selected for the President’s medal for distinguished service. In addition, 11 other police officers and personnel from Haryana have also been selected for the President’s medal for police service.
IPS officer Vikas Arora (1998 batch) was appointed Gurugram Police Commissioner in August last year. Arora was earlier posted as police commissioner in Faridabad. He was also the Deputy Commissioner of police (east) in Gurugram between 2010 and 2011. Arora, as Faridabad Police Commissioner, had played a vital role in crackdown on online fraud cases which led to the arrest of hundreds of persons from across the country, from September 2021 till August 2023. Arora also served as Inspector General of police (IGP), south range (Rewari), from 2020 to 2021.
“I am glad to know about my selection for the President’s medal. I have always abided my duty,” Arora said.
As per the Ministry of Home Affairs’ list, others selected for President’s medal for police service from Haryana include IPS Deepak Saharan, Kamal Deep Goyal, Surinder Singh Bhoria, Vijay Pratap, Deepak, DSP Sandeep Kumar, inspector Anil Kumar, Om Prakash, sub inspector Ram Niwas, Santosh and ASI Mahender Singh.
Commendable service
