Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta and Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal visited the accident spot and hospitals concerned to assess the condition of the injured students.

“We have initiated the process to provide compensation to the families of the deceased and injured students as per government schemes,” said Gupta.

Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij said senior officers of the Transport Department had been instructed to thoroughly examine all possible causes of the accident — whether it was due to a technical fault in the bus or driver’s negligence. He asserted that if anyone was found at fault at any level, he would not be spared.

He said the Haryana Roadways driver involved in the accident was suspended and the state government asked to terminate his services. He further said the number of buses at the Pratap Nagar bus stand would be increased.

On the complaint of an injured student Archita of Pratap Nagar, a case was registered against bus driver Anil Kumar under several Sections of the BNS and Section 72 (C) (A) of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, (Haryana Amended Bill, 2020) at the Pratap Nagar police station.
