Addressing a review meeting with officials of the Women and Child Development Department here today, state Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhry said every officer of the department should go in the field and listen to the problems of people. She also asked them to prepare a duty chart with information about the work being assigned to every officer.
She said strict action would be taken against those who did not comply with the direction. She said she would also go in the field to see the implementation of schemes at the ground level.
She obtained information about the quality and distribution of food to women and children under the PM Poshan Yojana, besides the distribution of fortified flour, rice, 'panjiri' and milk to women and children.
The minister instructed officials to ensure that nutritious food reached anganwadi centres on time. She also discussed the making of Mahila Chaupal and building of anganwadi centres, as promised in the party's manifesto. Instructions were also issued to officials regarding the standards of development of children up to six years in the state.
She said the information of all schemes being run by the government for women should be made available to people so that every eligible person could take advantage of it.
During the meeting, the officials informed the minister that a toll-free number had been launched by the department for people to give any information about foeticide or sex determination. For this, they would be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh.
