Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh flagged off a Tiranga Yatra, organised by the Ambala district administration, here on Thursday evening.

Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, Ambala Range IG Pankaj Nain, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer, SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat and several officials were present on the occasion.

A guard of honour was also presented by a police contingent on the arrival of the Governor.

The Governor said on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Independence Day, Tiranga Yatras were being organised at the district level, sub-division level and block level in the entire state. The objective of the Tiranga Yatra was to awaken the feeling of patriotism in the new generation and make every citizen determined for maintaining the unity, integrity and prosperity of the country, he said.

The Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and City SDM participated in the Tiranga Yatra along with other participants. The yatra started near the Police Officers Institute in Ambala City and passed through Shaurya Chowk, Arya Chowk, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Chowk, ITI Chowk, Police DAV School Chowk and concluded near the Police Lines ground.
