Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya lauds Raj Bhavan’s specially abled staffer

During an inspection of Raj Bhavan, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya lauded the commitment of a ‘divyang’ employee, Sunil Kumar, who performs his official work with his feet.

Appreciating his work, the Governor described Sunil, who is also an accomplished “foot painter”, as a hardworking and efficient employee.

He said it would be his endeavour that various welfare schemes of the state government should be extended to every deprived and differently abled person to bring them into the mainstream.

Sunil told the Governor that his hands were burnt due to an electric shock.

On the recommendation of the PGI, Saket, an institution for specially abled at Panchkula, adopted him during his school days after which he started painting with his feet.

He has won several awards in national competitions in painting. In 2007, he received the “Best creative child” award by the then President Pratibha Patil.

After learning typing with his feet, he got a job in Saket and was later posted at Raj Bhavan. — TNS
