Kaithal, July 30

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday said the festival of Teej promoted women empowerment and displayed the culture and civilization of the state.

He was chairing a state-level Hariyali Teej Mahotsav programme organised by the Haryana State Child Welfare Council in Kaithal today.

“Teej festival has a historical significance and it is our duty to preserve it,” said the Governor.

Highlighting the role of women in the overall development, the Governor said that no one should commit atrocities on women and should not let it happen as well.

“Women empowerment is necessary in the changing scenario as lakhs of women are working tremendously in the fields of education, research, agriculture and others,” he added.
