Governor to attend health sciences varsity convocation on Nov 12
Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS) will celebrate its fourth convocation on November 12. Vice-Chancellor Anita Saxena said Haryana Governor-cum-UHS Chancellor Bandaru Dattatreya would preside over the ceremony and confer the degrees. Haryana Minister for Health, Medical Education and Research Aarti Singh Rao will be the guest of honour at the ceremony. Additional Chief Secretary (Medical Education and Research) Dr Sumita Mishra and Surgeon Vice-Admiral Aarti Sareen, Director-General, Armed Forces Medical Services, will be among the special guests on the occasion. The UHS Registrar, Dr HK Agarwal, said it would be the fourth convocation of the university, adding that outstanding students would be felicitated at the ceremony. UHS Dean (Academic Affairs) Dr Dhruva Chaudhry said during this academic session, the names of more than 5,000 students from all the affiliated colleges would be inscribed on the degree scrolls, while the students of the constituent colleges of the university, including the PGIMS, PGIDS, nursing, pharmacy and physiotherapy colleges and State Institute of Mental Health, had been invited to receive their degrees on November 12. The UHS Controller of Examinations Dr Amrish Bhagol said information related to the convocation had been uploaded on the university’s website and the students must register online by November 4, without which the degree would not be awarded. The information about the batches which were eligible to participate in the ceremony was also available on the website (www.uhsr.ac.in) he said, adding that during the convocation, nearly 580 students of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses of medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy and physiotherapy colleges of the state would be awarded degrees. Medals would also be awarded to 17 students of graduation and 20 of postgraduation, he added.
