Govt aims for top spot in education quality with school reforms: Dhanda
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda today announced plans to improve infrastructure and create a positive atmosphere in state government schools, while introducing new technologies to address existing gaps. Speaking at a district-level workshop for the BJP’s membership drive at the party’s Ambala City office, he outlined goals to enhance the quality of school education.
"The party has launched its membership drive, aiming to add 2.5 lakh members in Ambala alone. Each booth has a target to recruit at least 250 new members,” Dhanda said.
On educational reforms, he highlighted Haryana’s recent achievements, “According to a NITI Aayog report, Haryana ranks third in school education quality nationwide. We are working with determination to reach the number one position by strengthening teacher numbers and creating a conducive learning environment.”
Responding to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala's comments on alleged exam cheating and fake degrees, Dhanda asserted, “Congress should first examine its own track record. We are committed to addressing any issues that arise, and we have implemented strict measures at exam centres to prevent irregularities. If any cases come up, we will take prompt action.”
Addressing the farmers’ protests, Dhanda defended the BJP's agricultural policies, stating, “Haryana is the only state procuring crops on MSP. If Punjab’s government struggles with MSP procurement, they should let BJP demonstrate how it’s done. Our government has always stood by farmers.”
He further emphasised the BJP’s development record, noting, “The BJP government has made significant strides in road infrastructure and merit-based employment. Development is critical for job creation.”
Prominent local leaders, including district chief Mandeep Rana, former Mullana MLA Santosh Sarwan, and former Ladwa MLA Pawan Saini, also attended the event.
