Govt announces benefits for Vinesh Phogat
The Cabinet today announced benefits for wrestler and Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat. The government had earlier announced benefits for her equivalent to a silver medallist at the Paris Olympics. Phogat had also reminded the CM about the promise during the current budget session.
CM Nayab Singh Saini today said as per the sports policy, silver medallists received Rs 4 crore cash award, Group A outstanding sportspersons job, and a plot. Now, that she was an MLA, she would have to choose among the benefits, said the CM.
During a press conference, Saini said the classification of Group A, B, C, and D posts in urban local bodies had been approved, similar to government departments. Group A and B posts would now be filled through the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). Group C and D posts would be filled through the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC).
“This decision will provide promotion reservations and other benefits to municipal employees similar to government department employees,” he said.
Currently, there are 31,533 sanctioned posts across 87 municipalities in the state, including 11 municipal corporations, 23 municipal councils, and 53 municipal committees.
The revised format of the One-Time Settlement Scheme had been approved for the recovery of outstanding dues. The revised scheme, aligned with BJP's Sankalp Patra, aimed to benefit small taxpayers.
Under the scheme, an applicant who has cumulative outstanding tax dues up to Rs 10 lakh in all years shall get a waiver of Rs 1 lakh. The applicant can opt for the scheme within 180 days from the appointed day.
After an overwhelming response from entrepreneurs, the government has decided to extend the operative period of the Haryana AatmaNirbhar Textile Policy, along with its subsequent schemes by one year, till December 18, 2026.
