The CM directed police and civil officials to work as a team at the grassroots level to ensure quick justice and restore public trust. “The complainant should not have to visit police stations multiple times to get an FIR registered. If an FIR can’t be lodged, the reason must be clearly explained,” he said.

On drug control, Saini praised recent awareness initiatives like cyclothons and stressed regular inspections of de-addiction centres for proper facilities. He instructed the police to step up surveillance in border and high-risk areas to break drug supply chains.

Taking a tough stance on repeat offenders and gangsters, he said, “Family members of those involved in heinous crimes should be barred from availing government benefits.” He directed that a proposal be drafted in this regard. He also called for coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to expedite extradition of foreign-based gangsters.

Saini highlighted the need to strengthen CCTV networks across urban areas to monitor anti-social elements effectively.
