Govt committed to procurement at MSP, says Agriculture Minister

The Haryana Government is committed to ensuring that every grain of farmers’ produce is procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after attending the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Charkhi Dadri, Rana said, “Officials have been directed to make sure no farmer faces any inconvenience during the procurement process.”

He said that of the 16 complaints presented before the committee, eight were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued for early redressal of the remaining eight.

“The state government is continuously introducing new schemes to improve farmers’ income and overall well-being. The Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana funds will be released soon and compensation for crops damaged by excessive rain will be directly transferred to farmers’ bank accounts,” he said.

Rana also stated that strict action was being taken against overloading in the district. “Challans worth several lakh rupees have already been issued,” he said.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Rana said, “The state government stands firmly with the farmers and will continue to take steps to protect their interests and ensure timely support.”
