Govt committed to quality healthcare for all: Min

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has said the government is committed to providing quality healthcare to everyone.

The government was running a NIROGI programme for health check-ups and treatment for the general public, under which general check-up, laboratory check-up and treatment were being conducted, he added.

The minster was speaking as the chief guest at a health check-up and blood donation camp organised at the Sub-District Civil Hospital in Jagadhri on Saturday under the NIROGI programme.

He said the government was trying to provide all kinds of facilities to the public. At the event, he praised social welfare organisations and social workers for their work.

“Social organisations play an important role in providing benefits of government schemes to the lower strata of society. Therefore, we should support them so that the benefits of these schemes can reach beneficiaries,” Rana said. During the programme, Rana provided wheelchairs, including electric ones, to those in need.

Appreciation certificates were also given to several individuals — including Sanjha Radio managing director Rahul Singh; social worker Narendra Kumar; Civil Surgeon Dr Manjeet Singh and Sub-District Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Anuj Mangla.

BJP district president Rajesh Sapra was the special guest at the event.

Dr Singh said the government was running various health programmes with an aim to strengthen the healthcare system so that all types of health services could be provided to the general public.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Divya Mangla (NIROGI programme Nodal Officer) said, during the camp, an orthopaedic specialist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist, psychiatrist and other specialists had been put on duty.

The team of doctors took vitals of the patients, she added. The Medical Superintendent said 125 persons were examined at the camp, and 65 donated blood.

In a separate programme, Rana inaugurated developmental works worth over Rs 1.42 crore in Pansara village under the Radaur Assembly constituency.

He also attended programmes in Bhoot Majra, Nagal, Sili Kalan, Palewala and Kartarpur villages.
