The listed five major focus areas are aerospace and defence, toy industry, services sector, construction industry and industrial infrastructure that will be given boost. Aerospace and defence, as well as toys manufacturing are the focus sectors at the national level at present.

An official spokesperson said that the state government decided to formulate specific policies for these sectors to give a major boost to thm, as the MSME sector holds prominence in its overall developmental agenda to advance socio-economic development.

The incentives and schemes launched through specific policies would not only address the needs of these sectors in the state but would also help Haryana to establish itself as a leading state in the country in the identified focus areas, he said.

“While Haryana’s well-recognised manufacturing ability and the state-of-the-art infrastructure in the globally competitive automobile and engineering sector could help in meeting India’s critical need to be self-reliant, the country under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative has been focusing on strengthening the indigenous toys manufacturing industry,” he said.

“Also, the services sector and the construction industry hold special prominence in the economy of the state, as they have the potential to become the growth engine for the creation of livelihood opportunities at the grass-roots level,” said the spokesperson.

He said that to achieve the vision of MSME development in the state, industrial parks were required to be created to not only reduce the cost of doing business for MSMEs but also to provide facilities on their doorsteps to foster entrepreneurship. Hence, considering the significance of the five focus areas in today’s scenario, the government had decided to come out with specific policies.
