Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) national president Ajay Singh Chautala on Tuesday accused the BJP-led Haryana government of being “completely indifferent and insensitive” to farmers’ issues, saying lakhs of cultivators are suffering.
Ajay Chautala was visiting several villages in the Ellenabad and Rania constituencies as part of a public outreach drive to invite people to the party’s 8th foundation day rally in Julana on December 7.
Addressing villagers, Chautala said unseasonal rain and flooding early this year had left large areas waterlogged. “Even today, fields are still filled with water and the state government has offered only assurances. No real work has been done on the ground,” he added. Because of this, many farmers are unable to sow wheat on time, which will directly impact production, he added.
Chautala said when the JJP was in government, it implemented policies that strengthened farmers financially. He urged the party supporters to further strengthen the organisation so that the JJP can return to power and “put Haryana back on the path of real development”.
