The state government has sanctioned Rs 65 crore for the construction of a new bus stand in Rewari city. The project would help the district authorities ease traffic congestion in the city.

“The bus stand will be developed over 17 acres, with 3 acres dedicated to electric buses. Currently, five electric buses operate in the area, and 30 more will be added soon. The construction of the new bus station is set to begin soon after the completion of the tendering process,” revealed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abhishek Meena.

While outlining the progress of various development projects and schemes, the DC said the Panchayat Department had established e-libraries in 76 villages, offering books on competitive exams from 13 different publishers. These libraries would help the youth prepare for various exams. He said more e-libraries were being planned for other villages.

“Under the Panchayat Shamlat Yojana, efforts are underway to regularise land occupation cases for plots smaller than 500 square yards, provided these lands are not designated for public works. In addition, the government has approved the construction of water tanks in Asampur and Pranpura villages at a cost of Rs 29 crore. These tanks will supply clean drinking water from the Budoli Canal,” he added.

Meena further said applications were open for the Har Ghar Grahani Yojana, through which citizens could receive 12 gas cylinders per year at a subsidised rate of Rs 500. The Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) also offered an online platform for resolving disputes, he added.

“Similarly, there is a plan to start an OPD service as soon as possible in the country's 22nd All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), under construction in Rewari. The Ayush OPD will be started this year itself. Starting the OPD and emergency services at the AIIMS is the government's priority. Manpower and resources have been increased. The electricity poles standing at many places on the AIIMS campus will also be removed soon to meet the road and other requirements,” said the DC.
