Govt schools won't have staff crunch from April 1: Minister

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda today said teachers had the biggest role to play in making India a developed nation by 2047.

The minister was addressing a seminar on "Rashtriya Shiksha Niti 2020: Bhartiya Shiksha, Sanskar, Mulya Aur Aapke Sujhav" on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti at Kurukshetra University.

Dhanda said, “Haryana will be the first state to implement the National Education Policy completely within 2025. To know about the flaws and fill the gaps in implementation of the NEP, we have decided to obtain suggestions from the teachers."

He said there would be no shortage of teachers in any government school in Haryana from April 1. "Orders have been given to rationalise the teachers in every school. Even infrastructure will be strengthened. Efforts are underway to remove all shortcomings before April," he said.

“There are many challenges in the education system. Artificial Intelligence can solve queries of students but can’t replace teachers. Thus, teachers should understand their role in these challenging times and work with utmost dedication," he added.

The minister said, "A weak political ideology kept the nation behind for decades but in the past 10 years, the world has started accepting the decisions of India."

Though we ask the students to become doctors and engineers, I request you to develop leadership qualities among the students, he added.

"As teachers, we should draw inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda and contribute in nation building,” said the minister.

Prof SN Sachdeva, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, and Pankaj Aggarwal, Principal Secretary, School Education, Haryana, among others addressed the gathering.
