Charkhi Dadri: Govt schoolteacher ‘molests’ girl student, sent to judicial custody

The Charkhi Dadri police have arrested a teacher of a government school in a case of molestation of a girl student.
DSP Subhash Chander told mediapersons here today that the school principal filed a complaint on January 14 about the alleged molestation of a girl student by a teacher.
The police registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the IPC against the accused and arrested him, he added.
The accused teacher allegedly molested the student in the school on December 5. The victim raised the matter with the school authorities after which a departmental inquiry was initiated into the matter.
Later, the school principal filed a complaint at the women police station. The DSP said the women police station SHO visited the school on January 15, but it was closed on account of winter vacation.
The police reached the residence of the principal and got details about the incident. Later, the accused teacher was arrested after the registration of a criminal case against him.
Sources said the accused teacher took the girl to an isolated place and molested her. The DSP said the police produced the accused in a court that remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.
