Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the BJP government had set a target to provide permanent government jobs to two lakh youths in its third term in the state. Over 1.71 lakh government jobs had been provided to youth without any 'parchi kharchi, he claimed.
Saini stated this while addressing a gathering after unfurling the National Flag during the Republic Day function in Rewari on Sunday. He emphasised that in previous governments, youth were exploited by contractors, but the BJP government had protected them by introducing an ordinance to secure their future.
Earlier, the CM paid floral tributes at the Veer Shaheedi Smarak to honour the martyrs. He also inspected and took the salute of the parade by the Haryana Police, Home Guards, scouts and other contingents.
“People of Haryana played a leading role in the freedom movement. The revolution of 1857 started from Ambala Cantonment. To inspire the new generation, the construction of a ‘Swatantrata Sangram Smarak’ (War Memorial) at a cost of Rs 538 crore in Ambala Cantt is in its final phase. The BJP government has increased the pension for freedom fighters and their widows to Rs 40,000 per month. The ex gratia for the families of soldiers martyred in war has been doubled to Rs 1 crore. Besides this, the present state government has provided government jobs to 416 dependents of martyrs,” shared Saini
The CM said to provide shelter to the poor, plots of 100 square yards were being allotted in villages and 50 square yards in mahagram. So far, 4,533 plots have been allotted in 61 gram panchayats and one mahagram. In addition, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 47,573 houses had been built, and nearly 14,000 houses are under construction, he added.
“The state government has also launched the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana for poor families. Under this scheme, 15,256 poor families in 14 cities have been given 30 square yard plots. He further shared that under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the target is to install solar systems on the roofs of one lakh houses in the state by March 31, 2025. So far, 12,285 solar systems have been installed under this scheme,” Saini pointed out.
