Bhiwani, August 2
Finance Minister Jai Prakash Dalal said about Rs 150 crore would be released before August 15 in the state as compensation for damage to kharif crops in 2023.
The minister, while talking to mediapersons in Siwani town of Bhiwani district today, said the government was in the process of releasing the compensation. “The amount of crop compensation will be deposited in the account of the affected farmers as soon as possible,” he said, adding that farmers did not need to worry about anything as the Centre and state governments stood with them.
Dalal was the chief guest at a district-level outreach programme, held under the Haryana Uday event, where he listened to grievances of 300 people. The minister also took a few officials to task on the allegations of their lackadaisical attitude in redressing people’s grievances. Dalal reprimanded a manager and summoned the branch manager of a local branch of Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank on the complaint of delay in releasing the loan sanctioned by the bank. The matter came to light when a complainant said he had applied for a loan for sheep and goat rearing at a local branch of the bank and he was sanctioned a loan of Rs 98,000. He said there was a 90 per cent subsidy on the loan. He said he also bought 16 goats but he alleged that the bank manager was yet to deposit the loan amount in his account, despite multiple visits to the office. The minister said the government would take action against those officials who harassed people.
“If any bank official or employee is found indulging in corruption in lieu of providing benefits of government welfare schemes and loan related financial assistance to antyodaya families, the government will take strict action against them. The government has launched these schemes to uplift poor families,” he said. He also handed over the loan letters sanctioned under the Chief Minister Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana to eligible persons at the event. Dalal said the interests of poor people would not be ignored. “Antyodaya families will be provided the benefits of the schemes at the doorsteps,” he said. He said he would hold a meeting with senior officials of banks under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary and direct them to ensure smooth implementation of loan-related schemes.
