The cashless facility for the treatment of the accident victims is helping such victims in Bhiwani.
The District Police, in collaboration with the Health Department, has helped three injured road accident victims who were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, where they received treatment under the government’s cashless facility in the past two days.
Recent cases under the scheme
- February 4: In the jurisdiction of the Sadar Bhiwani police station, a collision occurred between a truck and a Ritz car. The District Police, ERV-112, and an ambulance from the Health Department immediately transported the truck driver and Ritz car driver to the Civil Hospital.
- February 5: A motorcyclist collided with an auto-rickshaw. The police, ERV-112, and an ambulance took the injured motorcyclist to Civil Hospital where treatment was initiated under the cashless scheme.
In-charges to act swiftly
SP Nitish Agarwal has directed all police stations and outpost in-charges, Dial 112 ERV teams, Riders and PCR units to promptly reach accident sites without delay on receiving information about road accidents. They must also ensure that the victims are transported to the nearest empanelled hospital.
The Police Department and Health departments completed the documentation process within just six hours, ensuring that all three victims benefited from the cashless treatment scheme provided by the government.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhiwani, Nitish Agarwal, stated that the primary goal of the initiative was to provide timely and effective medical care, especially during the golden hour, when the chances of saving lives are the highest.
This pilot project involved the National Health Authority (NHA), police, hospitals, the State Health Agency (SHA), and other stakeholders.
The SP further informed that road accident victims were entitled to cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh per person per accident for a maximum period of seven days from the date of the accident.
This scheme applied to all road accidents involving motor vehicles, irrespective of the type of road.
If a victim is already a beneficiary of any other central or state government scheme providing similar benefits, the treatment costs will first be covered under this scheme before utilising other schemes.
However, individuals who are admitted to a hospital more than 24 hours after the accident will not be eligible for this benefit.
The treatment under this scheme will be provided through empanelled hospitals, including hospitals under Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
