Govt’s loan scheme to help women become self-reliant

Avail loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh through nationalised banks

The Haryana Government has launched a new personal loan scheme through the Haryana Women Development Corporation to help women become self-reliant and improve their financial condition.

District Manager and Deputy Director Dr Darshana Singh said women with an annual income of up to Rs 1.8 lakh, who are not income tax payers, can avail loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh through nationalised banks. District Managers have been authorised by the headquarters to sponsor these loans.

Under the scheme, women from general and backward classes are eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs 10,000, while women from Scheduled Castes can receive a subsidy of up to Rs 25,000. Beneficiaries are required to contribute 10 per cent of the total loan amount, with the remaining amount financed by nationalised banks.

Women can use these loans to start or expand small businesses such as grocery shops, general stores, beauty parlours, tailoring units, boutiques, handloom ventures or goat and sheep farming.

Applicants must submit two passport-size photographs and photocopies of their Aadhaar card, PAN card, Family ID and caste certificate (for SC applicants).
