The MLA assured the delegation their concerns would be addressed.

Devinder Mehta, the president of the association and society, along with the former president, Vinod Sethi, Mahesh Singhal and Subhash Dutta, said traffic congestion on the school road in Rampura Colony was an everyday problem. They pointed out that car repair shops along this road contributed significantly to the traffic jam, with shopkeepers often conducting repairs in the middle of the road. Additionally, vehicles were frequently parked in the middle of the road, further obstructing traffic flow.

The delegation added on several occasions that even motorcycles struggled to pass through the 60-foot-wide road due to the congestion.

“We met MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora on Wednesday and requested he find a solution. While we do not want to stop the employment of shopkeepers, we need a smooth road to access our homes,” said Devinder Mehta.

Residents of the colony, including Dinesh Kohli, Devinder Puri, Om Prakash Bhatia, Shravan Singh and Pushpendra Bahl, suggested practical measures to alleviate the congestion. They proposed painting yellow stripes 15 feet apart in front of the shops to create clear parking and repair zones. They also recommended shopkeepers be instructed not to carry out repairs outside these designated areas, with penalties imposed for violations.

“Furthermore, action should be taken against drivers who park their cars in the middle of the road and leave them unattended,” added Dinesh Kohli.

In addition to the traffic concerns, several residents raised the problem of frequent power cuts in the area. They requested the MLA to install a new transformer in Green Park Colony to provide relief during the summer months.
