Guard injured as miscreants open fire inside liquor godown
A security guard deployed at a liquor godown sustained injuries when miscreants opened several rounds of fire inside the godown near the Jagadhri bus stand today. When the guard fired in retaliation, they fled from the spot.
The guard was rushed to a private hospital in Yamunanagar.
Two motorcycle-borne persons reportedly reached the godown at about 3.15 pm today. One of the persons stood outside and kept the motorcycle running. The other man entered the godown and started firing. A bullet pierced the ear of the guard, Rai Singh.
After getting information of the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Srishti Gupta and DSP Rajiv Miglani reached the spot.
As per information, the police inspected the incident site and spoke to the employees at the godown. They also took the footage of CCTV cameras installed outside the godown.
The ASP told the media that two miscreants had opened fire. “Several teams have been formed to search for the miscreants,” she added.
