Gurugram boy youngest to reach Everest base camp

Gurugram, June 20

Three-year-old Heyansh Kumar of Babra Bakipur village in Gurugram district has become the youngest person to reach the Mount Everest base camp, which is situated at 5,364m above sea level.

It may be noted that Heyansh was 3 years, 7 months and 27 days old when he achieved the milestone. Earlier, the record was held by Advit Golechha who was 4 years, 4 months old during his ascent. Heyansh’s journey was sponsored by Mankind Pharma. He completed his formal training in Himachal Pradesh. After this, on April 23, he started the journey with his father Manjeet Kumar.

Appreciating his efforts, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the child had shown indomitable courage and determination at a young age by hoisting the national flag at the base camp. “Heyansh has brought laurels to the state as he is the youngest mountaineer to reach the base camp of the highest peak in the world,” Khattar said.
