Gurugram civic authority assures quick fixes for industrial area problems
Ashok Kumar Garg, the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, visited the Sector 37 Industrial Area Phase I and Phase II to address a range of civic problems affecting local businesses. During his visit, Garg met with representatives of the Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) and other industrialists to hear their concerns and pledge quick action on key problems.
The PFTI Chairman, Deepak Maini, along with other members, raised a series of pressing problems, including sewerage overflow, inadequate drainage systems, malfunctioning street lights, sanitation problems, erratic water supply, potholes, encroachments, poorly maintained footpaths and discrepancies in property tax records.
Garg listened to the concerns and directed relevant civic officers to expedite solutions. He instructed Joint Commissioner Vishal Kumar and Assistant Engineer Naeem Hussain to address the sewerage overflow problem urgently. Additionally, plans would be initiated to install new water harvesting systems across the area to maximise rainwater collection and recharge the groundwater levels.
To tackle errors in property tax records, Garg requested Zonal Taxation Officer Pankaj Kumar to set up a special camp in collaboration with the PFTI. The camp would aim to resolve property tax-related complaints on-site, ensuring prompt rectification.
Garg reassured the industrialists the Municipal Corporation would prioritise these problems to improve the overall infrastructure and living conditions in the industrial area.
