Gurugram cops challan 1,015 for wrong lane driving
Gurugram, July 12
In a special drive focused on lane driving, the Gurugram traffic police issued 1,015 challans to violators on Friday. The drive was conducted on the national highway and main outer roads in Gurugram, with the police also using drones to catch the violators.
The Gurugram traffic police stated that the campaign was run from Sirhaul Border to Kherki Daula Toll Plaza and on main outer roads to curb accidents and ensure that heavy vehicles drive only in the two leftmost lanes.
“Under this special campaign, challans were also issued with the help of drones against those who did not drive in their lane. A total of 1,015 challans were issued by the Gurugram traffic police, amounting to Rs 10.12 lakh in fines. The majority of road accidents are due to not driving in one’s lane and sudden lane changes. To ensure that such accidents do not happen, such challan campaigns will continue in the future,” said Virender Vij, DCP Traffic.
