The traffic police personnel on Tuesday filled the potholes at Subhash Chowk, Anjuman Masjid T Point, Z Chowk and Kanhai Chowk. A senior traffic police official said many such stretches had earlier been repaired by the zonal traffic officials and their team members at various intersections and roads.

“The zonal officials have been given the task of identifying the locations on public roads that can be repaired easily and manually. They are continuing on their work and after filling all the potholes, vehicles are being operated more easily. This will save both time and oil expenses of the drivers. Our traffic officials have done a commendable job by getting these potholes filled,” said Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic).

Traffic Inspector Rajbir Singh said the presence of several deep potholes had affected the traffic movement. Taking prompt action in the matter, the officials got these filled immediately to save commuters from any untoward incident.

Rajesh Kumar, a zonal traffic official at Z Chowk, while repairing a damaged road said though it was not their responsibility to repair the stretches, they were doing it for the safety of commuters. “Every day, we see commuters, especially two-wheeler riders and pedestrians, facing problems due to these damaged spots. It is better that we repair it when resources are available to us,” he added.
