Gurugram, March 4
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Tarun Singal, on Saturday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 61,000 on the accused and in case of non-payment of fine, he would have to face additional punishment.
According to the police, the matter came to light in a residential society in Sector 93, Gurugram, on February 8, 2020.
A personal security officer (PSO), Sunil Kumar, had shot his wife Munesh dead in their flat A-82 after a brawl broke out between them.
Following the complaint of Sunil’s father Chanderbhan, a first information report was registered against him at the Sector 10-A police station.
There was an altercation between them on February 8, 2020, and Sunil opened fire on his wife with his service revolver. Munesh died on the spot.
After registering a first information report, the police had arrested Sunil and he had been sent to judicial custody by a city court. The hearing of the case continued in the court during the last few months in Gurugram.
The evidence and witnesses presented by the prosecution in the court proved the charges against the accused and the court of Additional District and Session on Saturday sentenced Sunil to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 61,000 on him.
