After being absent from the civic election campaign, Gurugram MP, Union Minister and Ahir leader Rao Inderjit Singh finally stepped in to rally support for BJP candidates in Gurugram and Manesar today.

While BJP insiders have been questioning Raj Rani Malhotra’s selection as the mayoral candidate, Inderjit dismissed concerns, asserting that her candidature was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision.

"She was chosen by the PM, and that should answer all doubts and concerns," Inderjit said, addressing criticism of Malhotra's docile demeanour and allegations that she would serve as a rubber stamp mayor. He added, "Modi’s confidence in her is an endorsement of her calibre."

Inderjit also called for unity within the party, emphasising the need to put aside personal opinions and concerns. "We need to stand united behind Raj Rani in Gurugram, Sunder Yadav in Manesar, and all BJP councillor candidates. Some individuals have tried to harm the party by fielding Independent candidates, but the people will choose BJP, proving that the party is bigger than personal ambitions," he said.

His remarks came amid allegations that Inderjit and his faction within the BJP were not supporting Manesar’s mayoral candidate, Sunder Lal Yadav, due to Yadav’s close ties with local MLA Rao Narbir. To counter the speculation, Inderjit released an audio statement clarifying his stance.

"All this is baseless gossip. I was busy and couldn’t be part of the campaigns, but my team and I fully support Yadav. I urge all BJP workers to focus on our candidates and not believe rumours," he asserted.

Other senior BJP leaders also stepped up their campaign efforts. MP Kiran Choudhary campaigned in Gurugram, while BJP star campaigner, former Haryana CM, and Union Minister ML Khattar urged people to trust BJP for Gurugram’s continued development while campaigning for Sunder Lal Yadav.

Additionally, BJP Haryana president Mohan Lal Badoli, along with CM Nayab Saini’s wife, Suman Saini, campaigned for ward number 15 candidate Bharti Harsana.

"This civic election is about increasing women's participation. Women are equal partners in the city's development, bringing their unique vision and energy to the table," Badoli said.

Harsana, accompanied by Suman Saini, highlighted BJP’s women-centric policies, claiming that over 300 Resident Welfare Association (RWA) members and local societies had pledged support for her. "Our party believes in empowering women voters and we have a strong resolution for their uplift," she said.
