Gurugram police nabbed 49 wanted criminals in 2024
Gurugram is a haven for criminals not only belonging to Delhi and Haryana, but also distant states such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. A data released by the Gurugram police revealed that this year, a total of 49 most-wanted rewarded criminals were arrested, and these carrying rewards of Rs 5,000 to Rs 2 lakh on their heads.
A senior police officer said a blueprint was prepared by the police for the criminals, who had committed several kinds of serious crimes. A Bihar gangster, identified as Saroj Rai, carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, was shot dead in a brief encounter on November 20. The 26-year-old gangster was allegedly booked in over 32 criminal cases in Bihar. In one of the cases, he had demanded extortion from an MLA in Bihar. The gangster was allegedly planning a major crime in Gurugram, when he was intercepted by a joint team of the crime unit, Manesar, and the Bihar Police and was killed in an encounter.
In this year, the police had also arrested a wanted criminal, who had carried a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head. The accused was identified as Ratna, a native of Madhya Pradesh. Officials had arrested 12 criminals, carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 each on their heads.
The arrested criminals were identified as Santosh Singh, a native of Aligharh in UP; Rajesh, alias Bhondad, a resident of Daulatabad in Gurugram; Mukhtar of Bihar; Anis of Alwar; Jigurala Ansari of Bihar, Irfan of Nuh, Ranjit Singh of Delhi, Vijay alias Kale of Jhajjar, Sanjeev Kumar of Bihar; Krishan of Gurugram; Zakir Hussain of Palwal; and Manisha, wife of gangster Kaushal, a resident of Naharpur Rupa village in Gurugram. Another criminal, Aman, a native of Aligharh (UP), who carried a reward of Rs 15,000, was also arrested.
The police had arrested three criminals, who had carried a bounty of Rs 10,000 each on their heads. They were identified as Mubin Khan of Nuh, Kamlesh and Shanti.
Officials had arrested 29 criminals carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 each. They were identified as Mayank Chaudhar, alias Anil Chaudhary, Sachin, alias Kukki, Nikhil, alias Nikki, Praveen, alias Sonu, Angad, alias Chotu Bihari, Gopal Yadav, Kartar, Kuldeep Grewal, Deepak, Budhram, Kamal Singh Mehta, Sanjay, alias Bhedia, Sher Mohammad, Sunil Dahiya, Sushil, Pawan, Manjeet, Iqbal, alias Billa, Shahzada, Kapil Raghav, Gajender, alias Gajju, Shravn Kumar, Abhishek, Deepak, Manshu, Sumit, Himanshu Khatri, Manish, Saurabh, Iqbal, alias Jhota.
The police also arrested Jamshed, a native of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, who was carrying a reward of Rs 4,000 on his head.
