Gurugram, February 3
The Gurugram police rescued a kidnapped youth from Sonepat and arrested three persons in the case last night. The victim was kidnapped on February 1.
The arrested accused were identified as Sanpera resident Sandeep, alias Kala (42), Dheeran resident Mohit (28), and Hasanyarpur Tihar Kalan resident Kunal Kumar (23).
“During the interrogation, the accused revealed that Manoj had taken Rs 15 lakh and promised to provide a job to Sandeep’s nephew. When Manoj failed to return Rs 15 lakh, the accused took away his Hyundai car. However, even after this, a sum of Rs 8.5 lakh remained outstanding,” said ACP (crime) Varun Dahiya.
The ACP said that Sandeep had planned with his associates to kidnap Manoj, who was unable to pay the outstanding amount, and they finally kidnapped him on February 1. He said the police were questioning the accused.
According to the police, a woman informed them on February 1 that her son Manoj was kidnapped by three persons from near the M3M residential society near Naurangpur village and took him to Sonepat.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Kherki Daula police station. Two teams were formed, one led by Sub-Inspector Lalit Kumar, in-charge of crime unit, Manesar, and another team led by Inspector Ajay Kumar, SHO of the Kherki Daula police station.
The police have also recovered one licensed revolver, three cartridges and four mobile phones from their possession.
