Gurugram, August 3
Many parts of Gurugram will experience a complete disruption in water supply for 36 hours due to a scheduled shutdown at the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant, a spokesman for the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) announced today.
The shutdown will begin at 10 am on Monday and may continue till 10 pm on Tuesday.
According to GMDA officials, the shutdown is necessary for the relocation of a water supply pipeline at Bakhtawar Chowk, the replacement of the non-return valve (NRV) and maintenance work at the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant, all of which will be carried out by GMDA teams.
“This will be a full shutdown of water supply for 36 hours, affecting water availability in Dayanand Colony, Old Gurugram, Laxman Vihar, New Colony Booster, Choti Mata Booster, Sectors 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 33, 34, 37C, 37D, 81 to 115, and Boosting Station Sector 51 (all sectors from 42 to 74 and Badshahpur village),” GMDA authorities said.
Residents in these areas are advised to use water judiciously during this period, they added. — TNS
