Gurugram traffic police launch QR code for challan payments
The Gurugram traffic police have announced that traffic challans can now be settled scanning the Paytm QR code. This new initiative will save people’s time, and facilitate the payment of challan from anywhere.
Keeping in view the public’s convenience, DCP (Traffic) Virender Vij launched the Paytm QR code for paying challan on Friday. DCP Vij said Gurugram was the first district in Haryana to have this provision of easy payment of challans.
Last year, the traffic police issued challans worth Rs 15.17 crore for traffic violations in Gurugram.
“The Paytm QR codes have been pasted in all police stations, chowkis, traffic booths and police offices in the district. After scanning the QR code, one will have to login on the website of Haryana Traffic Police. Then, the user will have to enter their challan number or vehicle number to pay the challan amount. Only the challans sent to the court cannot be paid through this Paytm QR code,” said Vij.
