The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with great fervour and devotion across gurdwaras of Karnal on Wednesday. A programme was organised at the Nirmal Kutia gurdwara, where a large number of devotees gathered to pay obeisance before the Guru Granth Sahib. Sant Ram Singh distributed blankets among the needy and showered flower petals upon the devotees. Devotees lit lamps at gurdwaras across the district as well as at their homes and establishments, expressing their faith. Another programme was organised at Dera Kar Sewa Gurdwara here. The Guru Granth Sahib was placed inside the beautifully decorated Diwan Hall, and devotees began arriving early morning to seek blessings. MLA Jagmohan Anand and Mayor Renu Bala Gupta were among the devotees who paid obeisance on the occasion.
