Hand grenade recovered from two youths in Karnal, defused safely

A Special Task Force team in Karnal arrested two youths in possession of a hand grenade, which was safely defused.

Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the police apprehended both the suspects from Baldi bypass, said Depender Rana, in-charge STF Karnal.

“After the information, the area was quickly cordoned off, and both were arrested. The explosive was destroyed following safety protocols,” Rana maintained.

Police have not disclosed the identity and motive of the accused, but revealed that they are members of a gang. “We are inquiring about the intentions of the accused and also involvement of others in it,” said Rana.

Aman, DSP, STF Haryana, said that though both persons have been taken into custody, the matter is still under investigation. “Initial findings suggest both accused are residents of Sector 13, Karnal. They are being interrogated, and all possible angles are being examined. It is too early to comment on their motives," the DSP asserted.
