Haryana has adopted the simple and hassle-free Central government process for payment of family pension to specially abled children and dependent parents after the death of state government pensioners.

“The names of specially abled children, siblings and parents may be added to the pension payment order (PPO) issued to the retiring government servant if there is no other eligible prior claimant for family pension other than spouse. No fresh PPO needs to be issued in such case and family pension will be payable by pension disbursing authority in a prescribed manner,” read an order of the state government.

The spouse will be paid family pension till death or remarriage on production of death certificate of the pensioner. On the production of death or remarriage certificate of the spouse, pension will be transferred to the specially abled children of the pensioners.
