In a bid to ensure cheating-free examinations, the authorities at the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) on Wednesday have appointed nodal officers in all districts across state to oversee real-time reports and implement strict measures to prevent malpractices.

“We have implemented a foolproof system to curb cheating during the board exams. There are three major points of focus: first, there will be zero tolerance for paper leaks; second, no crowds will be allowed outside examination centres under any circumstances; and third, a complete ban on cheating will be enforced. Nodal officers are expected to act as torchbearers to monitor any malpractice and will ensure that any irregularities are immediately reported and addressed,” said Dr Munish Nagpal, Secretary at the BSEH.

The decision to appoint the nodal officers was taken at a meeting held by the Secretary with the BSEH’s Deputy Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries in Bhiwani to ensure smooth examination operations.

“All the nodal officers will stay in the allotted districts until the completion of the examinations and will submit a report daily after monitoring the situation. If a crowd is seen outside any examination centre, its record should be prepared and sent so that the examination centre can be cancelled with immediate effect,” said Nagpal.

He maintained that flying squads had been deployed with route charts in all 22 districts of the state. “Each flying squad will inspect about six examination centres. They will have to send photographs of the initial examination centre to the nodal officer. The nodal officer will submit a report to the higher authorities in this regard,” he added.

Nagpal has directed that district-wise WhatsApp groups of flying squads and nodal officers should be created immediately so that information can be shared on them.
