Sources said the Cabinet meeting had been summoned tomorrow, though the time was yet to be fixed.

The Cabinet, which will meet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is likely to recommend the dissolution of the House since the mandatory Vidhan Sabha session — to be held every six months — cannot be held.

The last session was held on March 13 and the next session was supposed to be held by September 12.

The legal option sought by the government suggested that there was no provision to explain what happened if the session was not held after a six-month lapse, and hence, the government had decided to recommend the dissolution of the House to the Governor after a meeting of the Cabinet.
