Haryana CM Nayab Saini meets family of deceased ASI Sandeep Lather in Rohtak
Stalemate over post-mortem as family demands FIR against those named in suicide note
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the family of deceased ASI Sandeep Lather at Ladhaut village in Rohtak district on Wednesday.
He met the grieving family members and offered condolences. He was accompanied by ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Mahipal Dhanda, former state minister and BJP leader Manish Grover, and other party office-bearers.
Saini did not speak to the media during the visit.
ASI Sandeep Lather, who was in charge of the Cyber Cell of Rohtak Police, allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday by shooting himself. He left behind a suicide note and a video message.
His body is currently kept at the residence of his maternal uncle in Ladhaut village.
The family has refused to allow a post-mortem despite repeated requests by local police and administrative officers.
They have stated that they will permit the post-mortem only after an FIR is registered against the persons named in the ASI’s suicide note and video statement.
