Highlighting the cultural significance of the day, the CM said Krishna Janmashtami is deeply rooted in Indian traditions and carries the timeless message of unity and brotherhood. Referring to Kurukshetra as the sacred land of the Mahabharata, he reminded the audience that it was here that Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjun.

“The message of the Gita is still relevant in our lives. As we talk about building a new Haryana, it is the Gita’s wisdom that guides us. Lord Krishna never discriminated against anyone and treated everyone equally. His life inspires us to create a society free from discrimination, where people live together with love and respect. Haryana is moving in that direction and we are ensuring that every citizen receives the benefits of government schemes without prejudice,” the CM said.

He added that the state was working to preserve cultural heritage while driving development. Events such as Sri Krishna Mahotsav and International Gita Mahotsav were being organised in Kurukshetra, while international editions of the Gita Mahotsav were also being held abroad to spread the scripture’s universal message.

Responding to community requests, Saini announced that he would personally meet the Union Railway Minister to push for the construction of the requested access route to the Dharamshala. He also pledged Rs 51 lakh to support the Dharamshala’s public service activities and assured that other feasible community demands would also be fulfilled.
