Haryana Dairy: BJP leaders skip Kala Amb event
Panipat: The absence of senior BJP leaders at an event organised by Shaurya Smarak Trust at the Panipat war memorial, Kala Amb, on January 14 has sparked discussion. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Pratap Rao Jadhav and Nikhil Khadse, and Cabinet Minister Jai Kumar Rawal attended, but no BJP MLAs, Haryana ministers or senior officials were present to welcome them. Trust president Pradeep Patil called it “unfortunate” that Haryana Government representatives failed to meet protocol. The event featured dignitaries from Maharashtra, yet no host state leaders showed up, raising questions about their absence.
Officials silent on MBBS exam scam
Rohtak: The MBBS exam scam has stirred political circles, but officials from the University of Health Sciences and the district administration remain tight-lipped. Sources reveal the state government is taking the issue seriously, directing officials to conduct a thorough inquiry promptly. Intelligence agencies are also closely monitoring the case.
‘Jai-Veeru’ bond of ministers
Faridabad: A recent gathering highlighted the camaraderie between ministers Vipul Goel and Rajesh Nagar, representing Faridabad and Tigaon constituencies, respectively. Dubbed the modern-day ‘Jai-Veeru’ duo of ‘Sholay’, the ministers sang “Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Chhodenge” and “Bane Chaye Dushman Jamana Hamara”. Goel said, “We have been and will remain friends wherever we go.” Analysts suggest their bond stems from similar political struggles, including opposition within their party for tickets during the last Assembly polls. Their growing prominence reportedly challenged a senior leader considered their rival.
Still no Leader of Opposition
Chandigarh: Over three months after the Haryana Assembly elections, the Congress is yet to name its Leader of the Opposition (LoP). Opinion polls had favoured the party to win, but its loss has left it in disarray. Most MLAs back former LoP Bhupinder Singh Hooda, but the high command remains undecided on whether to retain him or nominate a new face. With the budget session approaching, the party seems likely to repeat its monsoon session move of proceeding without an LoP. Critics argued the Congress is staying true to its reputation of delaying critical decisions.
