Cycle rally by doctors

Karnal: A cycle rally was organised by members of the Karnal IMA in support of Dr Anil Nausaran, who had come from Meerut on bicycle, to spread the message for prevention of HIV/AIDS and thalassaemia. Dr Nausaran was welcomed by the members, followed by the cycle rally. Dr Nausaran put forth the concept of “medical kundli”, requiring every prospective bride and groom to get themselves tested for these two diseases before marriage. The IMA members gave their views on the spread of Covid, its prevention and post-Covid complications.

Study material for kids

Karnal: The Varitra Foundation, an NGO, distributed study material in schools in rural areas of the Gharaunda block. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav gave study material to students at the government school in Rasulpur and appreciated the efforts of the foundation. “We have a target of study material distribution and building beautification in 20 schools,” said Ayeshna Kalyan, Varitra founder.

Getting pat from CM

Rohtak: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has issued appreciation letters to local social outfits for their contribution in helping the needy, especially migrant labourers, by providing them ration, food, medicines, masks, sanitisers and other essential commodities during the lockdown. Rohtak District Red Cross Society secretary Devender Chahal handed over appreciation letters to the social outfits. “It has encouraged us to do social work with more enthusiasm and dedication. We are overwhelmed to get appreciation from the Chief Minister,” said Mukesh Bagri, convener of Ready to Help.
