Tussle over mayoral post likely

Faridabad: The BJP’s stellar performance in the Delhi elections seems to have boosted the morale of the BJP camp here, especially that of ticket aspirants, for the civic body elections due on March 2. Local leaders believe that the BJP ticket would guarantee victory in view of the back-to-back wins in the state and Delhi. With the swelling number of ticket aspirants, there’s a possibility of tussle within the ruling party over the selection of the candidate for the mayor’s post. Political analysts say two former ministers and three sitting ministers, including a Union Minister, will make all efforts to have their say by getting their own candidate elected to the post.
