Karnal: A visit by Sirsa MP and senior Congress leader Kumari Selja to the residence of party leader Lalit Butana last week has triggered political speculation after several Congress leaders and aides of former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda attended the programme. The gathering prompted talk of shifting loyalties within the party amid ongoing rumours of differences with Hooda. While a couple of leaders admitted to changing camps, senior figures strongly dismissed any rift. Former Karnal MLA Sumita Singh and former Indri MLA Rakesh Kamboj clarified that their presence at Butana’s residence was not an act of rebellion. “Meeting Kumari Selja does not mean we have changed our leader,” they said, rejecting speculation of deserting Hooda’s camp.
