Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) registrar Dr Rajesh Kumar Bansal unveiled the poster for the upcoming Haryana Film Festival 2025 in his office on Tuesday. The festival, organised by Cine Foundation Haryana, will take place at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, on April 4 and 5.
Addressing students and faculty from the Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Dr Bansal emphasised the importance of films in shaping society and inspiring change. He encouraged students to create documentaries and films on various welfare schemes by the government.
The event was attended by Sushil Kumar, Dean of the University School for Graduate Studies, Sewa Singh Bajwa, Dr Ravindra, and several students from the department.
The festival will feature two categories — professional and non-professional. Participants in both categories must register and submit short films or documentaries by March 8. The themes include Haryanvi culture, environment, women empowerment, modern farming and progressive farmers.
Winners in the professional category will receive Rs 31,000 for the best short film/documentary, while the second and third prizes will be Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000, respectively. The poster also detailed rules for the competition. — OC
