Haryana first to provide tap water to every house: Minister

Gifts projects worth Rs 80.9 crore to Kalka

Haryana’s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Dr Banwari Lal said Haryana has become the first state in the country to provide tap water to every household under ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ scheme.

He stated this on the sidelines of inauguration and stone-laying events of projects worth around Rs 80.90 crore in Kalka today. These projects include 30 roads costing approximately Rs 80 crore and four new tubewells costing Rs 91.86 lakh.

In Kalka, the PHE Minister inaugurated 11 roads with a total length of 71.24 km, costing Rs 53.47 crore. He laid the foundation stones of 19 roads of 47.63 km in length and costing Rs 26 crore. He also laid the foundation stones of four tubewells in Pattan, Ganeshpur Bhoria, Nala Jabrot and Damdama villages.

Dr Lal said the initiation of projects worth around Rs 81 crore would provide better connectivity and clean drinking water to Kalka.
