The Chairman of the Haryana Gau Seva Aayog, Shravan Kumar Garg, today said that the state government had allocated Rs 216.25 crore for the smooth operations of gaushalas and the electricity rate for gaushalas had been set at Rs 2 per unit.

Garg was speaking after inspecting Gau Seva Trust Gaushala and the Keval Krishna Miglani Gaushala on Spatu Road in Ambala city. During the inspection, the chairman reviewed the facilities and arrangements for cattle.

Garg said that no fees was charged for the registration of land related to gaushalas and no property tax was charged and there was no need for the Change of Land Use (CLU) certificate for a gaushala.

He said that the primary objective of these inspections was to ensure that the gaushala management is giving proper care to cattle, maintaining cleanliness and taking precautions during the cold and rainy seasons. Two gaushalas were inspected on Friday, which had 500 cattle each. Some directions have been issued to the gaushala managements.

Garg said that there were 5,993 cattle housed across 13 gaushalas in Ambala district. He dismissed recent media reports of cattle deaths due to cold as baseless, clarifying that the deaths were natural. At Keval Krishna Miglani Gaushala, only three cattle deaths were reported in the past 1.5 months, all due to natural causes.
