Urban Local Bodies Minister Kamal Gupta has announced the dissolution of the Baans municipality and re-establishing it as a panchayat in Hisar on Tuesday.

Gupta made the announcement during a public meeting at the village anaj mandi, where locals had been staging a dharna in support of their demands. The protesters welcomed the decision and thanked Gupta, MLA Ramkumar Gautam and ex-Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu and ended the dharna. —
