Chandigarh, August 16

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his third death anniversary, calling him a true nationalist, patriot and ideal statesman.

Dattatreya said, “Vajpayee was the ‘Ajatashatru’ (a man with no enemies) of the Indian politics, who as the country’s first non-Congress Prime Minister not only successfully ran the government with the cooperation of 23 other parties, but also provided a strong leadership to the country.”
